SEC Media Days begins on Monday.
Approximately two weeks left in July.
I can see college football on the horizon.
Seven more Saturdays until we take on Clemson in Charlotte.
But today, we talk about Auburn and the Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry. We haven’t lost to them much in the last ten years. They gave us a good ass whipping in 2017, but we got retribution a few weeks later in the SEC Championship game. In 2013 they needed a miracle to beat us. In 2010 they need a 250K player. Last year with “offensive guru” Chad Morris helping out Gus Malzahn call plays, they still could only manage six points. Bo Nix was running for his life. If he wasn’t so athletic and getting rid of the ball so quick, he would’ve been sacked ten times.
Stetson Bennett was our QB and we still beat them. What is J.T. Daniels going to do to them?
Now they have a new coach who was probably their fifth or sixth choice depending on who you believe. They have an offensive coordinator in Mike Bobo who either hasn’t updated his offense or hasn’t had anyone good to run it since he was the OC at Georgia. His sole purpose at Auburn seems to be recruiting. Derek Mason, late of Vanderbilt, is the DC. They are implementing an entire new regime. It doesn’t look promising for the Barn.
This could be a long day at the office for the Auburn offense. I’m not sure if they are any better and Bo Nix is still the QB. Their speedy WRs are gone and the recruiting hasn’t been as good as it has in the past. Tank Bigsby does everything for them, but he can’t do it all. This one has a chance to get ugly and I’m here for it.
Hoping to see the third stringers playing in the fourth quarter of this one.
