been seeing this pose a bunch

So it’s only been a few weeks, but it’s a new month, we’ve seen more games, and frankly, there are a ton of studs on this team to write about.

FIRST ROUND LOCKS: Davis, Salyer, Anderson. No new guys as of yet are a lock for the first round. A couple of guys are knocking on the door though. Nakobe Dean (ILB) has looked amazing this season. His football speed is something to behold and he has a nose for the ball. Whenever you watch the game, 17 is in on the play. He is a bit undersized, but if he keeps playing like he has he will find himself drafted late in the first round by someone.

STOCK RISING

We’ve already talked about Nakobe, here are some others:

  1. Nolan Smith, OLB. I’m becoming more of a believer in Nolan Smith. He’s looking real good out there. Good enough that he may jump to the league after this junior season. While I don’t think he would go in the first round, I do think he would go somewhere in the second round. I could also envision a scenario where he bets on himself, and comes back for his senior season to make himself more money.
  2. Robert Beal, OLB. Part of Kirby’s first full class in 2017, Beal is a bit of a graybeard, but he has been making plays this season. He’s been in and out of the transfer portal a couple times, but he is finally making his mark. I’m not sure this time last year he would’ve been in the league, but now I think a team will take a late flyer on him.
  3. Jake Camarda, P. Jake is going to be one of those guys who plays in the league for ten plus years. Just going to be a solid punter who can also kick off and be a PK in a pinch. With roster slots at a premium, it helps to be versatile. Jake won’t get drafted high, but he will get drafted. Then he will just be a staple of a team and you won’t think about him too much.

NEEDS MORE TAPE

  1. Channing Tindall, ILB. He’s been coming on this season. His speed is his elite trait. He might need a bit more tape of diagramming the plays and playing in coverage a bit more. He also could be a candidate to come back for one more year.

We will come back in November for more updates for new guys.
